Why Electric? Zero FX Electric Motorcycle Review
We’d given electric motorcycles the silent treatment till now and thought we’d continue the theme here. The Zero FX is modern, all-electric, and heaps of fun but is it worth the money? Or the compromise? We find out in this elaborate ploy to hide the fact that SOMEONE misplaced Ryan’s microphone.

BRAVO!
😆😆😆 good work as always fella
Dude, it makes NO noice ...!
I didnt understand the resell value part
That was good loved the beginning
Greatest video on LTworlds
What was this about again? I tend to listen to these while I’m doing other things. All I got was 10 min of old school music...
When electric motorcycles become more affordable, technology becomes better and there are more charging stations, I'd be more than willing to trade my dino juice-fuelled bike for one of these tree huggers. I just hope I live long enough and have enough money when that day comes.
No thanks I'm keeping my big block chevy and yz 250 two stroke .
I love the silent movie throwback, brilliant. Hahaha
Wonder why Elon didn't make his launch events like this!
I legit love that you captured one of the most amazing things about electric motorcycles: Silence. I love hearing my engine roar on every turn in my sports bike, but the silent experience when riding electric is just unmatched.
That was bloody tragic as hell. I would never have believed in your ability, now proven, to shutup for 2 minutes let alone ten. You could have given us a real response to what it was like to ride.
I'm new here and I really enjoy your videos! Awesome job!
Overpriced and not enough range.
How to bay
Masterpiece filmmaking
Ultimately the problem is that going faster requires exponentially more energy, and Li-ion batteries don't have the energy density to sustain that kind of huge power requirement. Also, energy transfer is a issue. Batteries have a maximum amount of energy they can release at any given moment without going into meltdown. If you need more energy in the moment, you need more batteries to supply it. This is called the C-rate of the battery. To illustrate this issue, we need to compare a 1 gallon of gas equivalent battery to 1 gallon of gas. The math here is tricky, a gallon of gasoline technically holds 33 kwh of energy, but its not possible to get the full power of gasoline due to how inefficient combustion is. Also motorcycle engines are less efficient then car engines. A motorcycle engine may only convert 15% of the energy available in gasoline to actual work. So multiplying 33 by .15 we get 4.95 kwh. Now an electric motor is 80% efficient, so we need our theoretical battery to be a bit bigger so we get the same amount of work from each motor. So lets say 6 kwh battery hooked to a electric motor is equivalent to 1 gallon of gas hooked to a IC engine. So a 6kwh battery can supply, at most can handle a C-rate of up to 4 without exploding into flames. That comes out to 24 kwh of continuous power. Or about 30 horsepower. For comparison a Kawasaki H2 produces 228 horsepower, and gets 24 mpg. In other words, it only uses 1/24th of a gallon to produce 228 horsepower over a mile of distance. It's not even close. A gallon of gasoline in your tank can get you hundreds of on demand horsepower. E-motos have their place though, specifically for appealing to people who would not like motorcycles otherwise. They are extremely low maintenance, clean, and quiet. 30 horsepower would be plenty for such a person.
Yeah that thing's exhaust is the chimney of the coal-power plants
That must have been a great bicycle ride in the beginning
This was hard to watch
Nobody else could produce anything of this calibre. Just proves how talented you are.
Any ideas on ‘ The long way up’?
Hey as a street musician I found that offensive 😅🤣😂🖕☯️
What an inspiration man, first 30 seconds i was like when will this montage end and then i soon realised this is not your regular bike review. Literally no words to describe this ❤️
Nope, no way and never...
Price dismount all dreams
You must stay with you motocycle while he charges
Your creativity, blackboard teaching & humor keep me waiting in suspense for the next video. My favorite subscription, love the channel & every video so far. Thnx aye 😉
Loud pipes save lives.
Cheesy, disliked
Silent review for a silent bike. V.clever.
i want onee!
This was SO creative and splendidly done! Enjoyed every second, and I'm not even a motorcyclist! Great stuff!
Couldn’t have said it better myself
Brilliant!
no sound, sure death in the city
Only i hate about this bike is it is without gears
That opening ride sound reminds me of speeder bikes in the forests of Endor....minus the Ewoks. LoL
If younger, I'd love to have the Zero FX for an urban assault vehicle. I'd ride my DR350 down long sets of concrete steps, I'd speed up for 55 MPH parking lot speed bumps, and I didn't worry about potholes. The Zero hoon bike would be perfect for this. Until there's charging infrastructure, no electric bike is a cross country bike. I just bought a new old stock 2019 BMW G310GS and it's much more suited to my old man version of commuting and adventure touring... and it was hal the price of the Zero, even after e-bike tax credits. I also put a 1500 watt hub motor on my mid 80s Yrek mountain bike. No tax credit, but MUCH cheaper, and no taxes, registration, license, insurance....
@FortNine Brilliant, as always, but this one is pretty special! I got amazed how you guys are able to combine acurate technical data, great sense of humor, cultural and artistic references, historic references (concerning to what we may call the "General History" and specifically the History of motorcycles too), all together presented in a perfect aesthetic for every video. Also, you guys, have the best bike reviews on YT! Please receive sincere compliments from a new subscriber from Brazil.
Briliant!!!!!!
I feel ashamed to be making a comment two years late just saw the video , excellent. I'm probably showing my age but it made me think of a young Benny Hill doing a motorcycle review.
Tree hugging moment tho 😂😂😂😂
Hey, congrats on your 1 mil subscriber
Very smart!!! A silent film for a silent bike.
this is the only bike you can ride through handlebar deep water and not hydro lock...sure the range scares some would be riders...but the sound of silence, and ZERO maintenance....
I just feel uneasy when i ride electric motorcycle
Nevermind i don't want an electric bike
I honestly want an electric bike
One word : WOW! FIRST SILENT REVIEW I HAVE EVER SEEN YET SO INFORMATIVE! GREAT JOB!
Dose it has gear
Yeah...no
About the long term value: how long will your battery stay decent, and how much will it cost to replace it 🤔
I completely fell in love with this channel a few days ago when I found it. But I am over the moon with that beginning burn out scene. you are so clever I can't even deal with it anymore. Straight up hilarious
I would totally buy one (as a second bike, at half the price)
only Ryan can review a motorcycle without opening his mouth!
Re environment.. so where's all the power coming from when everything goes electric? The tree huggers protest the dams we already have.. we'll need more, not fewer.. and millions of batteries and a gazillion 5G towers.. that's the plan. Welcome to Agenda 2030. 😁
It's creepy good. For God's sake, i watched Chaplin made motorcycle review.
Great video👍🏾 audio is very poor. I couldn't hear a word he said😃
100% buying me this after watching your video , I hope your sponsored or gave you the bike , nice ducking job
How much to replace the battery when your range is cut in half due to battery degradation? Great work on a video though, superb!
Fortnite*
Zero chain maintenance. So do belt drives never wear? Also, I'm not against electric vehicles and think they make great sense if you average milage is less than the vehicle range. I do think that they have not yet been about long enough to know the full long term impact. It's all great when the battery is working 100% but how long will that last and how will it affect the resale. Also, yes there is more regular maintenance costs for a IC vehicle but if you keep those up it can potentially run forever and be maintained by you. With electric, at some point either the battery, motor or controller will fail and the cost of that item will probably may the vehicle uneconomical to repair.
I’ll just say that I saw it twice.
Hands down! The best LTworlds video I have ever watched. Absolutely amazing. Thanks again for the honesty and quality.
I felt like Megumin in this clip when I saw how silent and automatic the motorcycle was. ltworlds.info/home/vaizdo-ra-as/14as17Fmf72Gf84.html
I didn't expect to see megumin in this comment section. Wonderful
What a clever idea. Review the quietest thing on the road without making any noise yourself.
my god these guys are so good .
Are there anyone able to read what the entire paper says?
2:11 he do be spinning tho
7:30 name of this audio track? like, please
I love seal..
Great photography and very creative
Very creative as every other video props to you
There's Only Two Motorcycle Channels Worth Subscribing To, Yours & Querly's. Just Curious Though, Why The 'Waltz Of The Flowers'? I Had To Learn It As A Child & It's In The Key Of "A". I Always Hated The Key Of "A" . . .
The silent treatment indeed! Loved (and laughed) every moment of it. :-D
You have all your test rides on the rain, which doesn’t bring all the good of view and performance, looks like Vancouver CA
Pleas make film ,,, Such creative person you are ,,,
Energica all the way 😎
loved it
I would love to see the reviews on the other zero motorcycles such as the Zero S or Zero SR
Oh i get it it's a silent film for a silent bike :D
brilliant
Only if this electric powered Motor bikes can Do atleast 500-600 km on a single Charge or reduce the charging timeframe to about 15 Minutes ... max 20 minutes it would be really dope ..... BECAUSE when you hit the Road, you hit the Road !
I loved the subtle toaster-knife action.
Would absolutely buy one for $3,500 new but not $10,000. I have 2 electric bikes in Asia I bought both new for $2,000 combined...
Electric bikes? Zero FX Given.
That refference to clockwork orange starting at 6:40
Old Charlie Chaplin style I dig it! But electric has got a ways to go before I will own one! Not enough range right now but do make great urban bikes with no emissions and no noise! Well little to no noise you still hear some things working tires etc! And the older they get usually the louder they get! But I love big torque so they do have that going for them! Now if we could just make a quantum leap in battery tech we could whip all the worlds problems or at least the moving ones!
What if it was all a dream?
This may be one of the most creative videos I've ever watched.
zero fx given! amazing video
Seriously usually love your videos..... However I found this video quite annoying
electric motorcycles are gay
I love the Cinema-photography...funny finding this during the quarantine
What equipment do you use for making this videos? Just beautiful. Would appreciate if you answer.
this is the only one i found hard to watch. but i still appreciate it!
this video is masterpiece
