  • I worked at a Yamaha dealer and there was a recall on the Roadstar and the 1700 . I replaced some washers and circllips on the 2nd gear. To do this I had to teardown by splitting the cases. first one took 15 hours I think .Got it down to 9 hours, I think the warranty flat rate was 11 hours. Anyway I did about 15 of them and I fell in love with the Roaadstar. So well built all metal no plastic, nice to work on and the TORQUE! ,stunp puller, Awesome bike and I never went for cruisers you know ,But I think I need one now. I see them going for 4 to 5 grand . Out performs a Harley by miles. WE had a souped up HD on the dyno and it only made 65 hp 1600cc shotguns carb kit and power module . Go with the Roadstar. Just try it.

  • CBR 125 or Equivelant! You can bring it in to your residence and keep inside if you really wanted and they fit even the shortest riders. The mileage is even better, especially if you enjoy taking the local country highways instead of regional highways. You can lift it over obstacles if needed while trail riding or fleeing the coming apocalypse.. o.O

  • For a short time I owned the 1982 Yamaha XZ 550R Vision. It isn’t stylish now nor was it then. It was an underpowered V-twin with a very soft suspension and under engineered front forks that would easily flex (addressed with a fork brace). It was available with upper and lower fairings and mine had only the upper. Why should anyone care? Well, aside from its many inadequacies, it was really comfortable to ride on long trips in the twelve hours plus range. Since then, I’ve not found a midsize sport touring bike with a V-twin power plant that can be both sport and touring. What am I missing?

  • I own a Yamaha Royal Star and I will say this: you will only very rarely find a modded Yamaha Star motorcycle. The reason is the complicated assembly of the bike and the lack of available parts to use in the modding. Other than that, they are cheap, reliable and readily available.

  • Ryan mate, you honestly make the best motorcycle comtent on the entirety of YT!! I struggle to get through a couple days without needing to have a F9 motorcycle/benzine fix. And your eloquently attired words are more akin to poetic prose, than the typical biker garble that can be found littering the interwebs. You sir, are a literary genius with 10W40 flowing through your veins, and the world is better for it. (Also great to see that university education paying dividends) 😉👌 The comment about everyone "lining up to suck Yamaha's MSRP" had me in cackling like a crack fiend. Absolutely top shelf stuff mate. I NEVER get tired of rewatching your vids. Relaxing, inspiring, insightful and entertaining... you never fail to convey your passion, and keep your notification squad bursting with motorcyling euphoria. Thank you Ryan. Sincerely, thank you 🙏💯 If you ever get to Australia, consider a guided ride around S.E. Queensland and the first few rounds on me champ 🤙🍻

  • Now I am just a little annoyed that the MIGHTY SUZUKI DR 650 was not on this list! I mean its practically unchanged since 1996. Wait... I have one....And I love it! But why? The seat is like riding on a log, The kickstand can kill the engine, the headlight is to dim, The suspension, Is terrible, The handle bars will bend on the first fall, the exhaust is way to heavy and restricts power, it has a carb that u have to mod to get the true power the bike should have when its stock. But its so simply to work on , and super dependable. And there's so many mods u can do on this bike.

  • An XR is great motorcycle for deaf people. 2 smoke or nothing.

  • Only 2 bikes you need to look at as a beginner to bike riding.. Honda and Yamaha.. why.. cost, and over all parts replacement to the generic market are higher than other higher priced brands.. and if needed to have a mechanic to fix.. because of the commonality of the first reason. 250XL.. XL= extra lame. Gold wings.. those things can pull a small boat.. or even smaller caravan, popup trailer.
