Since it's a Honda this is all hypothetical.
Idk if you noticed, but your spark plug is wiggling all over the place when you kickstart the bike.
I watch your videos because I own a motorcycle and I want to learn something, but man, the video edit and the thought you put into each one its outstanding. Thank you for sharing this content.
I'm looking at a 1976 200T to rebuild.
Is it a good idea to put a few drops of engine oil through the spark plug cavity to lubricate the dry, possibly rusted cylinder before cranking the engine?
Check the oil before you crank it.
Pm me
what a lizard . . . watch my drone videos please . . . great info here though . the words are very true . . .
Ryan is a true youtube superstar
Can u make this same video with a sportbike ?
4:34 OMG The corgy is a two wheeler too! Such a lovely little rider!
Re-building a VT500C Shadow. First time ever for me, to get into the innards of a bike. Your various videos are invaluable, and I'm learning lots and losing the fear of taking things apart... Thanks for that!
It`s always the pilot jets that get plugged, use a strand of stainless wire
It's a honda. If honda made gasoline it's probably start, but they don't, so new gasoline usually does the trick.
Omg love you brother
Ultra violent mice 😁
Hey that was my first bike! Loved it
Dude, well done! But, PLEASE, for the love of everything holy, wear ATGATT (all the gear, all the time). We have scores of impressionable youngsters watching, right? Let’s be the outstanding example that no one was for us, eh?
Long live fort9
hey thanks man, thanks to you i made a 1974 yamaha trail start up again.
Just got my first motorcycle! It’s got 48k miles on it, but doing a front brake overhaul, oil, plugs, fuel tank, and shifter fixes, this thing has ran. Too bad spring break is right now because I can’t start the bike under her own power and own gas tank. (Petcock was bad)
All good stuff. This is also a great reminder of what a sweet bike that Honda was, and is.
As long as you've got the spark plugs out anyway, spray a generous amount of WD-40 into the cylinder to free stuck rings. Preferably the day before trying to turn the motor over.
6 months later, and 118 Harley mechanics have given this video a thumbs down for potentially taking business away from them.
Thumbs up for the dog iñ you the background
Beautiful motorcycle
What you see: 3:01 What she see: 3:03
Hi, CB360 was my first motorcycle. Have many good memories with it but sadly we went seperate paths. Im looking for a photo of the right part of the handlebar. Could you help me with that?
Lol whats with the dog in the wheel hair lol
Seafoam???!!!!
as owner of an old RE bullet i'd say: 1 check the spark cable and ignition coil for rust. 2 carefull opening the gas tap, sometimes it can leak. 3 that's it. on these oldies if there's spark and gas, its gonna run!
this guy is like the JerryRigEverything of motorcycles.
I just bought a Nighthawk 750 and I can't stop watching these videos now. You're like the Doctor who Doctor Seuss of motorcycles, minus all that horrible life ethics stuff that they don't mention when you're a kid.
Can someone tell me if my Honda cbr 250 rr mc 22 will be fine if hasn’t been started in six months I let the battery die an haven’t put another one in yet it was in perfect order before battery died ? I’m just worried will motor seize if sitting there this long ?
The dog?
3:30 "wow that's clean"
Love the little doggy at the end just enjoying his stroll
Great tip with the carb gasket!
i blew the carb half ždissasembled with air, but still no fuel is coming to cylinder. And i dont know if that central tube/jet is even removable, it doesnt go
Hey question, why does your website only serve the great white north and not the free murica'?
COOORGIIIIIII > Bike
There always a secret KAMPRET
And don't forget to open the fuel valve (for those that didn't get why he faded to black)
This video is so incredible well done mate 🔥I really enjoyed this. I need a bigger garage i can work on old beauties like this. HAHAHA... the dog in the background 🤣
I have a benelli tnt 25, and i think i have a power drain in the 2 wires that come out of the ignition switch, so please tell me, does those 2 wires have current ( read 13.2 volts )...... A plus, when i connect my battery, the dashboard lights up briefly, is this a normal operation of the system, or do i have a short circuit?
The Corgi made the video the best
This fella is definitely the most interesting and intelligent American I have ever come across. _(maybe he spent time living abroad or something.)_
Canadian, eh. ~RF9
Any ideas on rebuilding brake calipers on the cheap? A set of seals for my bike is something like $100, was wondering what I were to do if they went out of stock one day. It's just an effin piece of rubber at the end of the day. 😕
the dog ! HAS WHEELS !
Love the dog!
Well done! Same blue color as my first bike-‘71 CL Honda 450. I would also check gas tank for rust. Having restored ‘74 Norton 850 Commando, restoration is more a labor of love vs. dollars and cents.
That corgi made my day.
Exelente
What motorcycle is this? I love it!
CB360T, probably one of the most useful and practical bikes ever built for the average city and suburb rider. Easy to handle, frugal, elegant, comfy seat, easy to store, park, nimble, mechanically reliable, cheap to insure because they are some of the safest rider/bikes by a half century of statistics.
My god what an adorable pup, and on two wheels, I see what you did there! so adorable though and stopped for a second right in center frame and walked off like it was a Wes Anderson film...umm what was this video about again??
im so impressed with that green/blue pearl
good bye mechanic hello you tube!!
This is the chris fix of motorcycle with a slightly more decent budget. I love this. 🤣
Notice this was a Honda they last forever.
I would love to see more content on this bike. No big motorcycle youtubers make content on old bikes. I just bought a CB 360 myself too
lol that much current is only a zap. Believe me the amount of current going through isnt that much, even if you are unfortunate enough to receive a little shock.
Uhh that corgi in the back
now looking at getting an 82 twinstar up and running so this is perfect!
I have an XR 80 R that sat in a shed for 16 years it started first gear
I thot he had the KILL SWITCH engaged deliberately, to circulate oil thru the engine before attempting an actual start-up.
Hallelujah, and nice corgy chariot at the end.
So wise.
Sorry but, why dont just use the spark plug to check if there's spark? Cuz it can be bad and not show spark even though the bike is producing spark?
@FortNine Ohhhh, got it, it makes sense! Ty for the answer!!
The screwdriver trick is handy if you want to check for spark before bothering to pull the plugs out. If it doesn't spark, you know the problem is elsewhere and need not yank the plugs. ~RF9
This channel is so underrated
You forgot one of the most important things, usually the combustion chamber is dry, so in the first runs it's a good idea to "enable" the choke, so that more gas can enter the chamber
What's up with the Corgi with the walker?
Ryan I need a favor. I know it's an older motorcycle but it's a damn good one and deserves more attention. Could you please do a review on the 1984 through 1986 Honda Nighthawk cb700sc? It was a bike ahead-of-its-time that was killed prematurely!
2 wheel dog at the end was so cuteee................
Carb cleaner. In Australia we call it ‘start ya barstard’
Oh no, no glove?
I just did fuel and air on my 96 Honda VFR750!
Currently working on a honda ST50G from my father. It's now sitting for 22 years , but the tank is rusty and full hose are in too bad condition. This week (07.27.20) the parts are coming and soon the ST50G will run once more .
Bro this is literally my bike I've been repairing for the last 3 months
Maaan I want to find an OG cb like that.
What diameter viton cord would be appropriate for the fuel bulb gasket?
I believe cyanoacrylate is good for use with gasoline if anyone is wondering
Wonderfully done!
I love both of your vids
@FortNine you wrote the ultimate tutorial for our jalopy motorcycle tour! Www.reliabilityrally.com
@FortNine Do collabs like the old youtube
Got a bike that won't start, Mr. Regular? ~RF9
And don't rev the piss out of any engine that's been stored for years until its ran for 15-20 mins, cooled right off off then repeat.
who the fuck uses a wrench to take a spark plug off?
FUNNY...OR NOT...F9 WOULD PICK THE HONDA 360 FOR THIS VIDEO. >>>BEWARE
LMAO! The wheeled Dog!
I had this exact bike. It was a lemon :(
My ‘70 CB350 and my buddies ‘74 CR250MX owners manuals suggested removal of the drive chain every 6K and heat in a pan of oil at 65C for 2 hours (pre O-ring sealed lube chains) as a service interval that should be a pre-requisite for riding any fresh vintage bike.
The writer is amazing.
That corgi really made the video completed :-)
I have a sport bike and two cruisers but I'm an old guy (68) and miss the old days so when I saw Yamaha's SR400 I had to have it. I mean come on, kick start only. It's so damn fun and wouldn't sell it for the world. But what I really want is a Yamaha XS650. Had one when it first came out and I'm sorry I sold it.
If you sell that in India you could get it for nearly around $3000-4000. Especially if the engine is stock and you did a little clean up. This model along with the RX has a really rich history in India.
The pawn shop near me closed around 10 years ago and the owner had a CL 360 Honda he bought brand new in 74 stored in the back for over 40 year's. I gave him $500 for it and after cleaning the dust off and doing about the same as you did.. carb's/ battery/etc. The old bike was beautiful. It had1100 miles on it. I put it on Craigslist and flipped it for $2000. It's O'some to find a diamond in the Ruf and bring it back to Life. Plus the $1500 profit was pretty good to👍😀
It should actually be FACTS - the acronym is better and it includes "timing".
Liked the music too.
And lastly, slap anyone that would ever wish to turn it into a "cafe racer".
Amazing content, this and Vice Grip Garage are simply a joy to watch.
The Dog pooping at the end is the best
You know your stuff! Subbed
