Too portly, too big, too gimmicky, too…well, everything. Adventure bikes have gotten out of hand. Yamaha wants to change that by offering something just right - nothing more, nothing less.

Goldy locks is.....a.....child.........
Can we have the english subtitles please? I'm French and your rate of speech is to fast for me...
Great review...only I think goldilocks was seven..oops
great content as usual
You mention the Tiger; have you had a ride of the new one? A few kilos heavier, how does that fundamentally change the riding experience?
Still one of the top motorbike reviewers on youtube. :)
At almost triple the cost of my new DR, I’ll stick with my DR650! Only major upgrade is cogent suspension and it is capable of keeping up with anything out there!
20500 $ here in Denmark .. yach
Yamaha missed the mark with this one
Dude thats some breaking bad level cinematography and sound fx!!!
My yamaha ray z make 7 bhp but can go 90km/h
Where is that riding location?
Why do you not have this bike yet!? You influenced me to buy one and hinted at replacing the old 800. Need more T7 media!
Still a little too fat i think for the marketing they did for it and what a lot of people want. It and it's evil twin the 790 are the new leaders of the segment but myself and others were hoping for a reliable 690 with less vibes not a better designed 800gs.
Bro ... video editing 👍
Even though I'll be just one more comment, I have to say anyway: This is a really incredible video man. Congrats for the hard work!
No mention of the nut crushing forward leaning seat. It would be nice if you were to throw say 80 liters of luggage packed full and give it a rip in the rough stuff, use it for it's intended purpose...
Amazing review, new favourite channel on LTworlds!!
Excellent production sir!
Absolutely loved your edit. Subscribed now.
3:06 - The Honda NC :"Am I A Joke to you?"
so glad i'm not the only one that thinks that KTMs look hideous
Doesn’t appear to like a 790 yet can’t find a test on one!! Hmmmmmm
Martin. Martin Scorsese. That's who's' gonna call. Someday. Soon.
Your knowledge and delivery of content is unmatched by any channel I know. But we all know that. What I want to applaud you on is your beautiful production quality. Every video is more and more cinematic. It gets me pumped up to ride every time.
Used GS for sale : never been of road never been dropped or ridden hard 😂
This new parallel twin was a much needed upgrade compared with the XT660 Rotax but as ever with Yamaha in recent years the motor architecture does not always seem to fit the purpose, your video seems to address some of the critics. The Palm for the most deceptive marketing tool comes to KTM though and it 790 "Adventure" model. Clearly the word adventure has lost its meaning. I quote KTM "Whether it's in the desert, on remote mountain trails or a transcontinental crossing, this sporty travel bike is built with KTM's offroad genes and is ready for endless miles of travel exploration" eur no it does not, it is a 790cc moped that does not even remotely pretend to be a trail. I have discovered Italian brand SWM recently and their Superdual X, of course it is unknown and Italian so you may spend more time at the mechanic than on the road.
Ugly lookin' thing too.
I just watched a Video comparing the KTM-800 to the Yamaha T-7 .. They favored the KTM .. better off road in all aspects.. Yamaha more plush ride if your not pushing hard and more stable on road.. $3,000.00 less money and will run on gasoline that costs 60 cents per gallon less than the Premium the KTM needs.. I so love the KTM gas tank with low Center of Gravity .. I wish they had the same KTM style gas tank on or avialable for the Yamaha ..
That's for the conematic 21:9, I watched full screen on my Xperia
It may sit high, but it squats like a waiting cat.
Hey man, great channel! I’m wondering, what really is the difference between the Tenere 700 and a Ducati Desert Sled?? Specs look almost identical. Would love to see a review of these two bikes in comparison...
Yeahmuhuh
Enjoyable to watch and technically objective. A nice piece of commentary mixed in with artistic video work. Keep it up.
Your work is art! Congrats!!
Man those rear indicators are so floppy. I guess you need that when you crash into the earth
the production never disappoints
I want to see a video like this about the new Tiger 900.
Great ending, so classy
fantastic production
I just realized how close this bike looks to my childhood honda NX125.
This bike is so well made, and so well thought out...if there is only one bike that I have to have, this is it.
Well done sir :) Awesome content!
This channel is unbelievable! How have I only just come across it. Binge watching your whole back catalogue 😏
That is one bad ass looking bike. Great video
Too much style over too little substance for me. This video could have been a lot shorter.
Incredibly well done. No other channel comes close to your quality of production.
How this have 442 dislikes? Who are these miserable beings? Lol
I am so jealous of overseas market. They get YAMAHA!. In India, we get ORANGE SH*T and RETRO RUSTS. You know what it meant.
Love that engine, in my XSR, does sound like a washing machine though lol.
Saw a video tenere 700 suspension linkage comes from factory dry or something causing probs. I'm no mechanic but is bike too new to buy yet???
No, isn't so special. Good bike anyway. Cheap.
I just wish it had a more enveloping seat, like the F650GS - Dakar.
I've been waiting for the CT125 since the day the grom came out. Next month it will be in my driveway. *please* do a video on it!
I've been following for a while and I can only say that your videos are getting better and better every damm year!!!
It’s a great bike for sure. I just feel like for me personally an ADV bike needs to be for touring as well. The T7 wouldn’t be a great tourer. To me it’s merely a fat dirt bike and if that type of riding is what you’re after then a dirt bike is a better option.
You are the best channel in the motorcycle community
If you have time Ryan ... what's it like on the road ... after all, usually gotta ride a few Kms out of town to get to the dirt !
Obligatory "best content ever, best production quality on the net," comment.
Anyone have an idea what the weight distribution of a ktm 690 is?
Never had a review like this.. subscribed!!
Outstanding review. And fantastic video!
This men is like the Gandalf of motorcycles
this bike is fitting perfectely for like an african dictator in some american movie
This is how legends are made. I'm not talking about the Tenere 700.
Youuuu didn't take a 2014 Cannondale Jekyll Team Chainstay for your experiment! That was my bike back then;)!
@FortNine Awesome Bike. Had it till 2017. Dyad damper forever;)
It was my bike too... until I shattered the chainstay haha. ~RF9
This is a masterpiece. No, not the bike, the video.
I did not notice it but somebody mentioned I watched his video for 9 minutes and it did literally feel like 30 seconds. Good job
This or a 701 SM?
5 months ago i commented in this video "bike looks dumb, ill stick with my wr250r". then i watched it again while taking a shit and kinda got bit. last tuesday a blue one popped up in oklahoma and i contradicted myself and bought one. the t7 performs BETTER offroad than my wr250r did. It just trucks using momentum and anti squat. the wr gets jostled and tossed around by every imperfection, as all light dual sport bikes do. thing is, the t7 is like a goldwing on the highway compared to a wr. last 2 days in a row ive ridden 3-4 hours in one go, long highway rides to some dirt areas. came home almost refreshed....instead of feeling like i kicked my own ass. ryan made me eat crow
Sorry yammi!! But they only made the XT550 from 1982. So it was the XT500. I should know since i have 3 of them. Plus also the first true adventure bike, thats why the frenchman could go from Paris to Dakar with it. Same low end torque as the t700 and wonderfull to cruze. I chalange you to restore one in america and try it!!
Where are the heated grips Yamaha?
The reason these are amazing is because he doesn't tell us boring facts about the dimensions, the engine, the brakes, stuff we can hear if we go to a dealership, and which frankly, no one outside of competition racing really gives a fuck about. He tells us how it feels, what is good about it, and what is bad about it. Compliments it, bashes it, and draws a conclusion. This is what we need.
About half a year later, you can find a ton of KTM 790 Adventure's second hand here in Belgium. Eventhough the Tenere outsold it by a ratio of about 3:1 (3 Tenere's for 1 790) it's still very hard to find a second hand T700...
If I knew the 790 Adventure would be as reliable as this, I'd pick the KTM anyday.
Class
It's not just a review, it's a short film. 👍
i buy ktm even after seeing this video
You're video production quality continues to blow my mind. You guys are setting the standard....
great job
Amazing video, a work of art 🔥👌🏻
Opens video Has seen literally no content at all *hits like button anyway*
Nice aerial footage at the end. Where was it filmed?
Motorcycling + Cinematography = Pure Joy! Thanks and congrats F9 team!
The venerable XR600R is a truly formidable weapon.
How long will we have to wait for the Tracer 700?
Always entertaining!
Love the 2015 Cannondale Jekyll Team Seatstay being used as the demo for the rear suspension. That's a $1200NZD piece of carbon fiber off a $8000NZD mountain bike although that one looks like its had an accident.
So, if Yamaha set out to achieve something from a marketing perspective which would make Americans in particular perceive the bike differently than all other mid range bikes and make you wish you didn't have a larger bike, this would had to have been the goal here. Stability would be the key word and whether you are new to dirt or riding as well as an advanced rider, who wouldn't want a larger bike that was more stable than anything else on the market? That is the point of the T7. Yamaha is an engineering company first, bikes second.
I saw at 2'19: some slack on your accelerator cables... is that normal? Please, anybody answer & teach me something! Thanks
So that intro and video- WOW, have you locked up a 10 year contract in Hollywood yet, there loss. LOL thanks ,good stuff.
Fortnine selling me bikes again, this one i might actually buy for commuting country roads in sun, rain, snow. Might even take it off road its screaming to get dirty.
Great video and review, as always. Thanks for the details. Love the explanation of the swing arm and anti squat. I’m really curious what you think of the new Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. I’ve always loved twins but am about to upgrade from my Vstrom for a slightly more dirt oriented touring bike. Their triple’s “T Plane” claims to act more like a twin which sounds attractive. There’s a ton of other upgrades and new design features. I think worthy of a proper FortNine review. Would love to see you guys do one. Thanks for all the great content! Cheers.
I'm only 2 min into this movie and I'm new to the channel but man... I truly feel like I'm in the theater... Truth is... I'm on the toilet... like you are right now... reading this comment. That's right. I see you.
Why aren't you filming movies ?? Your content is on point , truely in a league of your own.
Where was this filmed?
Bye bye GS.
Yeah it's fantastic!
pls, 790 review
I think Mr. FortNite played The Evil Within 1 and 2 when analysing the video until 0:54 haha :D
