How 'bout this!? Both you and your passenger wear a nice pair of earbuds, and simply your passenger's cell phone? (using yours). Simply put those earbuds in your ears, THEN put on your helmet. It probably sounds better than your most expensive best option. Just sayin'?
Why does two way radios cost $40.00 with 25-35 miles of range, but a helmet system cost $250. plus and gets 1 mile at best?
Best coms , Ride solo !
Leave it to a Canadian to say "N.O.A.A." instead of 'Noah' like every U.S. of American does.
suspicions confirmed
That exact model of Motorola walkie talkie is good for the camper, but dogshit for anything else where immediate response is necessary. It also doesn't hold up the best against rain if an incompetent person does not know how to tighten the back well enough. If you're using it for riding, I recommend you get a headset to plug into it (it is 2.5mm jack), and set vox or ivox to the lowest sensitivity if you choose to use hands-free push-to-talk (otherwise I don't recommend the setting at all).
Excellent! Now I know what the best communication systems are. I just need some friends and I'll be all set.
Thanks for your great analysis. Do you have an opinion on the Freedconn 1000m, please?
the volume test conclusions need to be edited Ryan ?
Extremely well spoken man, so I was SHOCKED to hear him say "perfer" instead of "prefer"!!!!
Ryan what do you use as hannnsfree mike and speakers or headphones for the Motorola walkies? thank you
6:31 "Playing Justin Bieber" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Best letterkenny impression I’ve seen
Thank you for this review
I mean not for nothing but it is 20/20 and Unlimited phone plans with large group chat is a thing I mean really nice pair of in the ear Bluetooth headphones that are specifically designed to be worn underneath the helmet are not that expensive
"Ok google navigate to havana oo na na" What the fuck😂
Whats the name of the beat/remix ?
I love this kind of reviews
It whould be great if you could add Midlands to your Communication tests too.
One think is not clear to me. What headsets should be used with the walkie talkie?
Do you think it is the same for Cardo freecom 2+ as I do not like to travel with many people and I am wondering if they are compatible through the whole Cardo family?
10:43
Why wouldnt you just use discord on these again?
In the US I use a sena 30 and in the EU our riding group uses talkies with headphones since they work best in the mountains and when having to deal with a support car
It's so weird watching he's identical to my little brother.....🤔
You know... Chatterbox makes a unit that seems to have the features you like best from the walkie talkie, but is built as a comms unit. Plus bluetooth integration with your phone for music an calls. Works with GPRS/FRS frequencies so you can talk with others (like support vehicles) using cheap walkie talkies. The main downside of Chatterbox is the price. They ain't cheap. That said, I like mine. I've used it with bikes spread out 1-2 miles and it worked great. Let's see the bluetooth ones do that.
Man you’re so good. Editing, ,music, script and content are awesome.
Smoke signals? I'm currently using a Sena S20. No real complaints other than I wish it would auto switch between coms and music.
In 2009, I gave up on BT headsets and switched to Starcom1 wired system. Over a decade later, none of the BT offerings can even touch the Starcom1 feature set. Sena mic's are noisy - rules them out (who wants to listen to that!). The best contender seems to be Cardo Black, so let's compare that to Starcom1 Digital which wife and began using in 2009 (yes she rides her own bikes and all of our combined bikes are outfitted with Starcom1 Digital systems). Starcom1 with 5mile GRMS radios (with push-to-talk)... Bike-to-Bike range - 5 miles (line of sight), Cardo... 1.2 miles (not even close to being enough!), and no way of adding GRMS radios! Cardo... where do I connect the audio from Escort radar detector? (absolute fail). Where do I plug-in IEM's? (nowhere - again fail). Starcom1 offers microphone with long enough cord to mount in modular helmets (have them mounted in 3 Nolans, 2 Schuberths, and several others over the years)... Cardo - not possible (fail again). All this hype about BT headsets, and can't even match wired systems from over a decade ago - the current state of BT headsets is rubbish. And I wish it weren't so, but it is. Meanwhile, Starcom1 (who was making better products over a decade ago) goes out of business. Reminds me of a similar situation in action cameras, where (also over a decade ago) Contour was offering a cylindrical compact camera with built-in GPS, rotatable lens, Bluetooth control, and HD quality - only to be put out of business by the crappy box-shaped, featureless GoPro due to marketing efforts alone. A decade later, and GoPro still has the shape of brick and although they eventually added GPS (I think) and BT-connectivity, still haven't a rotatable lens! Cardo, Sena, somebody - if your going to put superior products out of business, please make something that measures up to the feature set expectation of a decade ago. From our perspective your success is based only on eliminating competition of superior products - seeing it for what it is. Maybe in another 10 years you and GoPro will achieve what other companies did a generation before?
I got the Lexin FT 4 pro, better and cheaper than sena and cardo and much louder!
Voice activated walkie talkies can perform a lot better at a very long range. Tried and tested in long 12 hour rides. 😁
lol. HNIC theme song is the Canadian national anthem. LOL
Bruh just use discord
My $20 ebay unit is better than all of these.
They are all so overpriced, have too many features/ buttons
King brilliant!
A string of cans works BETTER than these systems trying to talk to EACH OTHER......
6:25
Oh I'm pleased the Cardo came out on top I've just ordered one earlier 👍
FortNine = HIPSTER
Thank you, I appreciate the work you put into evaluating things. I think it's valuable to have the opinion of an actual rider rather than accepting what somebody was paid to say. I'm curious to know what you think of Sena 10C Evo.
Does the Motorola T605 have Bluetooth or is it just a unit to unit communicator?
If any of these communicators actually produced enough VOLUME to make them useable. I can barely hear my Sena above 80 kph and forget it above 100 kph. I use it to hear my GPS and FM radio. Don't use it for communicating with my mobile or bike to bike.
"Brochures are like pastures...." the problem with the F9 team is not really their problem, these guys are so good at this craft that they make all other motorcycle channels look like... ... "they are full of bullshit" ... keep em' coming with that good music, please, Godspeed!
Is that a TC90 hoodie????? I need one !! Do tell, please....
If I could play music through the walkie I'd be getting a 4 pack...
Bluetooth that has power for 600m..... while frying your head.
I prefer the Vnet V6. We have experienced a reliable range of about 1 KM. If someone becomes separated and lost, Bluetooth with a phone makes it world wide comm. Our sound is better than what is described here. The price was great, battery life acceptable as I went two and a half days without a charge. My set is three years old, been through a wreck and switched out to 3 different helmets. My philosophy of life was taught by a little bird which sat on my shoulder. It said, "Cheap, cheap."
lmao the Canadian national anthem i love it
Who else's phone launched google when he said "ok google" ? 🤣
Can you replace the mics for good mics?
My phone earbud works better and I can talk 24 hour wireless charging. That stuff is old school
So, motorcycle comms only work with identical comms? The fuck is the point of that? Wouldnt it make more sense to just have them be Bluetooth deices and then like, use a standard voice chat app? That way every single device is accounted for. Yea fuck those silly ass prices I'll just modify a cheap shitty bluetooth headset and replace the speakers and mic with something better. Maybe throw a small amp in there for extra volume.
Actually, a pair of earbuds with a separate mic wired up near your mouth would work perfect. take care of both communication and also work as ear plugs.
Was that a letterkenny reference? Lmao
domio all the way check it out
The hardware is there but you didnt give us enough money to use it, sounds like a GM vehicle.
what if, now here me out, you get cheap bluetooth earbuds for you and your friend, then you just call each other and stick your phone in your pocket
I’ve got the uclear and at loud volumes to music is shit but the mic works perfectly fine with my full face helmet anyone who talks to me never even realizes I’m riding my bike but I also didn’t put the mics in my cheek pads but directly in front of my mouth
we gotta make #imgayforryan a thing
I need a walkie talkie that I can load mp3 files onto.
@quinn man3 lol probably. I'm subscribed to a lot of them and watch them all. I sometimes have a lot to say about the way some people drive.
I feel like ive seen you comment on RCV dashcams or some other channel I watch too.
Walkie talkies will always win. Unless you're a HAM operator and can take your cheap ass baofeng with you. Winner.
Play the Canadian National Anthem... queue HNIC! ROFL! Nice touch.
I'm watching this in 2020 and you sir has successfully activated my google nest mini :)
Loud as hell reliable as shit 🤣🤣🤣 had me dying
The Justin Bieber bit had me balling!
guy over her just activating my google home.
Did anyone notice that the volume test name tags where wrong e.g. sena but tagged as cardo
In spain is illegal to use any communication system and thats sad
I wouldn't buy them because I gave up ridging in groups. Riding in groups is the antithesis of why I ride a motorcycle.
Loved the letterkenney reference! Filmed in my hometown! Love those guys
Damn the actual voice sound of these things is like someone is about to count down from 10 for a nuclair bomb strike. I'm gonna keep it simple...don't bother calling me when I ride. I'll see you miss call when I stopped.
What about Interphone ?
Just need a tiny bluetooth mic and speaker that I can tether to my cell, we'll just use Discord xD
Had the Sena 20s and now I use the Sena 50s. Works for 8 hours and has a standby life of 16, 1-2 hours charge time. As long as you have clear line of sight to other riders the sound quality was great and it stayed connected. 70+mph and wind noise is too much for talking but is fine with music or radio. Only complaint is that if you don't put speakers in your helmet correctly it does hurt your ears after 2 hours of riding.
My sena 50r gets about 3 hours of battery life
I really sorry, but you messed up UCLEAR with Cardo Freecom 4+ on 4:36. And it makes sense because there are JBL headphones.
How old is this guy
Sweet, I use my ham radio (Yaesu VX-6R) with my hand mic clipped to my collar, only downside is if I'm moving with any speed there is too much wind noise. I wonder if putting a sock over it would help? It's modified to work on FRS (Family Radio Service) frequencies (that would be the ones that Motorola and other "bubble pack" walkie talkies you'd buy at walmart or wherever work on) Difference is that I get to use 5 watts out of a huge antenna which means I can talk much more reliably than a stock FRS radio which is limited by a little antenna and only half a watt, but, those still should have plenty of range for a motorcycle group. Bonus of the ham radio is it can also be used to communicate with other hams possibly through repeaters so it can also be useful if I ever need to get ahold of someone in the bush as a bonus I have a long roll up j-pole antenna that I can string up in a tree for even better range.
OK.... I laughed out loud at 3 a.m. for the National anthem... love your vid's Ryan! Great job Fortnine!
"I only have 3 friends." *SLAMS FIST ON DESK*
😂 song was hilarious damn where the hell do you get those crazy ideas from
With the walkie talkie do u have to press down the button on it itself and hold to talk? Also is r u using seperate mics? Or just earphones with mics attached on the cord. Any issue with that? I'm looking at this Motorola and the more budget mororalas too.
How you manage to use the Motorola walkie-talkie with the helmet, what headset World you use, and to speak you use the PTT button?
Hey you guys, I want to ask some more info on these units, how can I get in touch with you?
I was confused at first. I thought I was watching Letter Kenny. :)
This channel is so underrated
Great video. Curious if you've looked at (or plan to) the Domio MotoPro.
Killing it with Bieber, you monster!
All the prices here are in Canadian like the site too?
What about interoperability between devices? Can the purpose built units communicate with the Motorola radio?
New Westminster
Talk about timing. Was literally researching on Google.. these videos are worth watching for newbie riders like myself. Thanks mate. 🇦🇺
Can you do a video like this for the best options for music? For those of us who have no need for communication or gps? I've tried headphones but I can't get my helmet on with them, it hurts and they jam in my ear wrong. I'm too afraid to try the random Amazon helmet speakers since I'm broke. Any help would be appreciated!
That's easy. Cardo with the JBL speakers. They sound great in my helmet.
4:31 Sena on the left)
I use my cellphone and some $10 jvc gummy+ headphones my friends call me and don't even notice I'm on my bike the cord can get annoying sometimes but not really that much
ridiculous ou cen geht a full ham Radio for 30 bucks...
What kind of earbuds or speakers do you reccomend with the walkie talkie?
Slap some Panasonic Eneloop NiMH in that Motorola. They're good for 5,000 recharges and hold triple the energy of an alkaline.
On a budget....how is that vnetphone? Amazon reviews are decent
The intro track is PH:track played twice
