Does anyone know if the traction aid would clear the rear fender on a harley? Asking for a friend that got his stuck in some sand just off road in Oregon (after pulling over b/c nature calling) and had to wait 6 hours for AAA.
Depends on the fender! They need a good couple inches both vertically and horizontally (swingarm clearance). On most Harleys I know of, the answer would be no. ~RF9
🤔 I can see nerds who dont ride buying 100 ft of rope and snow chains to put on their adventure bikes to tell everyone how they can get unstuck now! God help us
that intro made me think my screen was scrached 0:05
I hate when theres nobody aboot to help oot man. Love from Toronto 🙏🏽
I always kick my bike over when I get mad.... I have my mechanics fix it... I'm very well to do.
Fun thought, the film location looks like the sewage ponds at the jetty in Vancouver. So either thats salt/brackish water, or just sewage 😷.
Ryan, you're the duel sports god. you heard it first from Squiddy Hands.
One major omission: snatch block
For folks planning an RTW adventure this is about as priceless as information gets. Kudos F9 team. 👍
Why do You hate this BMW so much :P
ah yes the 'douche rope' (Awesome Players fans will know what i'm talking about)
i don't even ride motorcycles, and i love this channel
After riding for 60 years, this is the first time I have seen anybody demonstrate these tricks of the riding trade. Good thing, though, because I've also never needed them. Whew!
After watching this months ago. I purchased one of those lines and 2 of the traction blocks. I got stuck in soft sand right next to the road (with lots of spectators nearby) and didn't feel like dragging the bike around in the gravel on its side. I tried to pivot it on its kickstand but this was also uphill and that rear end was not going to lift out of the ground (ktm 1090) So I whipped out one of those traction blocks, slapped it on, and it pulled me right out!! It did get stretched about half-way across to the other side of the wheel though, I wonder if there's a better way to strap it on that it doesn't get pulled so far out, without tying a knot in it, as that would NEVER come back out after the fact.
You are brilliant!
:)
The 4th wall stuff is so funny
Not sure what made me more upset. Seeing the poor bike or the solemn moment after, "If you edit it in, I'll know you were super thin for footage"
🇨🇦 = Integrity
That was cool!
Im glad I have a sportbike, and I use it on-road 😂
In all seriousness these are some amazing tricks, I really need to get a dual sport.. my 1993 dr350s project failed, sadly
Nooobody abooot to help ooot!
Hook up faster than tinder dates 😁🤣😂
I like that little stick in the rope twist winch setup . Will remrmberthat one
Great ideas presented well, but I (slightly) object to the Bimmer abuse.
this is a video, nothing more
Lifts 500+ lb. bike with back rounded over. Ouch.
Got my tw200 stuck in a bog the other day. Probably the most harrowing moment of my life. I got it out with the help of a friendly Russian, but it still smells like mud and goose shit. Don't trail ride without recovery cables/ rope.
are there downloadable versions of these? or a book of some sort (as well as other videos made) so that it could be stored and pulled out for such an occasion, as some, if not all of these ideas may be forgotten in months or years to come?
"But more importantly, the wench cable eyelets hook up faster than Tinder dates" Hilarious :D
4th one ive done that but i didint use tools i got out my self i was 10 years old
Problem is you are using the wrong bike, we all do it all but these are the compromises
Spanish windlass is the name for the tourniquet method.....
Saw that brake disc flex a tiny bit on that last example
That was very good, You do an excellent show
U r freaking awesome
these folks care about what they are doing, are proud about their work and love it. absolutely great
I watch Yammy Noob too, But YOU ARE THE MAESTRO!!!!! Wish you had more, but I understand QUALITY takes time! Thank You!!!
This channel is so underrated
The whole time I watch this video I feel the GS's pain!!!
What about a golfcart?
"Nobody is ABOOT to help OOT." lol Classic joke as the Canadian's expense but, it worked!
Thanks for the tips Ryan, I used the Hub winch technique with a Paracord 550 to get unstuck from beach. worked wonders !
This is literally the most valuable channel I'm subscribed to, please don't ever change what you're doing. This is invaluable as a new rider
Can we take a minute to appreciate the beat that this legend gived to his BMW just for us?
Damn, I really should have got the bmw. Everybody thinks my veestrom is one anyways.
You've been. THUNDERSTUCK
Okay McGiver, where'd you find that shovel?
Please make a video about chain belt and shaft drive. And how 20% or more power loss to 3% and how to change over from shaft to chain drive?
“Now attach other end to a tree...” - gets shovel. That had me rolling.
Thanks for this video, i'm more stuck than i am riding, soo... this realy helped
wait, 5 actual tricks.... sick
Good to know but I think I will have other problems if I find my cbr stuck in the mud.
How many people carry a shovel on their bike?
"What's a purple bill?" says the American.
Golden unintuitive priceless approach to saving your own ass. Would've never thought of any of those instructions!
My motorbike weights 38kg, this is not a problem I typically have
Poor bike. ✌🏼
Not even a stunter's bike has been put through so much pain lol.
Bravo Ryan 👏
Dude your videos are so cool. Great editing man 👍
Or just go to gym
Could be very very useful. Awesome video as always.
It hurts to watch him just drop and drag his bike like that
Ryan, thank you guys so much for posting this one! Another incredible job! By far the best motorcycle related content online today....period.
I love you guys! Thanks for all the sweet content!
After that intro I'm starting to wonder if you are the dude who has been riding my local trails. I imagine this is the exact technique they used.
Ahh....Triangle Beach!.....last fall?
On the following link you will see the guy explaining a few clever tricks with pulleys and ropes... From about 5:20 he is explaining a 9:1 pull ratio you can achieve with a simple compound pulley setup. This would make it very easy to pull a motorcycle out of most situations with very little additional gear... ltworlds.info/home/vaizdo-ra-as/tGNnk6SFiJeNaMo.html
@45 secs bad technique, you should have had your back to your bike and pushed up with your knees with the bike against your rear, then you don't pull your back and push it up with all your muscles.....
I have to admire you! Come to Bolivia for a great UTV ride adventure with me
What do you think of the Telelever front suspension of the BMW R1250GS? Can you make a video of the pros and cons please?
Why? But couldn't you just....lift up the rear tire out of what it's stuck in? Bikes aren't that heavy. Your "drag" trick would literally work for all these situations.
If my father was half the man you are, I would't be as fucked up as I am today
I needed to know that rear axle engine driven winch trick about 6 years ago. Keep up the good content
Sweet hacks
Your videos are a great advertisement for the abuse these bikes can take. BMW and Suzuki should pay you for videos like this
Good job, every single time you sunk your bike I was deeply uncomfortable
Maaan. Your motocycle is having a rough life. Not an adventurous life. Not an experienced filled life. Not even a celebrity life after all these years. Just a rough one.
Ryan F9 gets arrested for pulling tricks.
Wish I had watched this video BEFORE my friend buried his Africa Twin in a cut line in the Alberta foothills. ........... Great information that I'll never (hopefully) have to use.
that poor bike the amount of PTSD it must have
3:38 holy cow, you have twin brother??
Your bike remind me of the dummy from Myth busters
That winch cable in water looks like a sea snake 😂.
You had waaaayyy too much fun with this. Lol
use this instead of the tourniquet method ltworlds.info/home/vaizdo-ra-as/1H11md1kZL6aoaw.html
Look up 'z-pulley' crevasse rescue technique; you can put together a super lightweight kit and will easily pull out a moto - you just need a progress capture pulley, static rope, and a few biners and anchor material.
I’m a born and bred road rider, learned to ride on the road and have only owned road bikes but Ryan makes me want to learn to ride on dirt and buy an adv bike.
Very clever ideas!
Of course always carry a full size shovel on your bike
5:17 who else thought for a brief moment, “Planting a tree?”
This has got like some top gear vibes
Here's another trick. Ride an xr200r (or other 200 lb bike) and just lift, push, pull it out, 500 plus lbs in dirt dumb, says this old Canuc. Can't get my head around dirt biking on a barge. Love seeing you struggle.
Excellent video
How tall are you?
Wow! You mean a BMW is allowed to get dirty?? So thats what the $ pays for...nice
4:00 so much scope for injury :)
It's tricky.
