There are times when a tiny air pump just won’t do the job seating the bead and inflating a tire properly. Thankfully, armed with a few tricks and some hardware, you’ll be back to double digit PSIs in no time.

Trick#4 is illegal :))
Thermodynamically, an internal combustion engine is just an air compressor.
Legend has that Ryan is still walking with the rear tyre in hand.
Yo kinda ARSONIST....!!! Canada looks like a wonderland. I'll send my kids to live there.
Try nitrogen. The molecules of that are bigger than that of air molecules.
That science lesson was so basic it felt intense
Isn't using this trick dangerous on a carburetor motorcycle? you are pumping near stoichiometric mixture into your tyre, it might not combust but petrol and rubber aren't the bestest friends. best to only reserve this for absolute emergencies.
Wd40 and most petroleum based sprays will eat away at tire and tubes. I wouldn’t recommended trading a present problem for a future one
But C5+, even though very volatile, stays liquid with the higher pressure inside the tires. CO2 won't.
You are the best.
Just carry a pump like cyclist do...
Give link u spray use in video for fire.
as someone who's into mountain biking before motorcycling, I've always made the habit of carrying a handpump whenever I ride, but these hacks are just too awesome not to try.
If you seat the bead with heat .. You need to add pressurized air fast before it cools and the bead looses it's seat..
Starting fluid which has ether and Propane works well but use sparingly ..
I watch your every videos and i find each one is very unique. What a amazing job! Greetings from Nepal🇳🇵
if you want a workout, try inflating a motorcycle tire with a bicycle frame pump.
Just take a hose and tape it to the exhaust
This guy has the face of a 12 year old and sounds 65 years old.
@1:56, what did you do to hold the air in the tube after connecting it to the car tire? I would think you'd lose some air quickly. A flow on/off switch appears to be a nice improvement here.
I used to do the last one with stubborn bus tyres. Lovely big bang!! Always leave out the valve though.
Awesome! Permission to share this episode. Thanks!
I wish this white Yao Ming was my science teacher.
So many lovely touches to this video and lots of information that is nowhere else on the web. Im gonna try the tire to tire bead seating. Fingers crossed it works
Nice
Some really good concepts there. Thanks Ryan.
Inflating your tyre with engine compression seems like a baaaaad plan. After all, it's an air/fuel mixture and gasoline is bad for rubber tyres. Also, it's an air/fuel mixture and very happy to do all kinds of explodey stuff. You probably won't find much spark inside of the tyre but hey, perhaps you have some dumb luck and lock up your tyre in an emergency stop, and the heat will cause the mixture to go boom.
5:31 uhh, make sure to leave your gloves on for this one too... 😂
Never disappointed when watching a FortNine video. Come for the MC knowledge, stay for the science. Stoichiometry, check. I mean seriously, when was the last time you saw a LTworldsr pull out a chalkboard and actually make sense? Well done, Mr. FortNine, love your channel! BTW, a spare tire from a passing car makes for a great reservoir of air. Looks like it is time for a trip to the hardware store!
The Ray Mears of get home.
What about the gasoline you'd pump into the tire when using your engine as a pump?
Good day Ryan and team FortNine! Can I ask you if in your opinion tire plugs are reliable way to fix the tire after small punctures? I caught a screw on a new tire and it really hurts to cash out for the whole new tire... Thank you in advance.
This is great! LOL Red Green would be proud.
I managed to find 25g CO2 cannisters in a bicycle store, they work out a lot more cost effective than the 45g aquarium cannisters. For the savings I'd rather carry a few smaller ones.
#4 won't work on a spoked tire, they have tubes in them. I have done the others with some degree of success.
Given the size, weight, unreliability and cost of a motorcycle air compressor, I opted for a high volume low pressure mountain bike (bicycle) pump. I have tubeless tires so I should never need to change a tire outside my garage. I carry a tubeless tire repair kit.
Doff your mitt, spare thine hand! Haha legend
Why does this guy’s vids feel like there is high production value? I mean it seems like just a regular guy talking, but it seems professionally done. How does he do that?
Hi will this work for tubeless mt bike? Seat it?
I've seen it done with an mtb! ~RF9
I like how he lights his hand on fire 😂
Didnt know Jofferey likes bikes
Anyone notice him light himself on fire😂5:30
How about the small green propane canisters?
just found this channel. It's absolutely underrated. The filming, editing, content and the presentation are great! Hope you get more subs and views in the future!!!
Hahaha no! 1:36 Un-beads %2 of the tyre..... un-bead both sides fully, then try and get a tyre to seal.... tyre shops still have trouble with dedicated 200lt compressors tanks- lube every where and it’s still hard
Jokes on you.....I have tube tires :(
I subscribed for "And doeth your mitt spare thine hand from frostbite? Yes."
Icelanders use the technique to inflate flat big foot tires using lighter fluid but after setting the bead they ad compressed air, so this might work if you add compressed air or co2 right after setting the bead .
CO2 iş great 👍
I would prefer a bicycle pump
Fortnite
Why dont u connect exhaust pipe to valve stem and start the bike
More info than my grades
Used the fire trick on my minibike with a propane torch... worked like a charm. Just gotta keep that bike pump ready to keep the pressure in it
Now that I have 2 flat tires I think I will invest in a pump
"You've got to pump it up, dont you know?...pump it up"
Or, ya know, buy a pump
That Lockheed starfighter reference has got to be your deepest cut yet haha
4:30 but isn't this a fuel air mixture that you're filling your tyre with in case of a carbureted emgine
Why is this man explaining chemical equations, moles and adnospheric pressure better then my teacher.
well if you had any brains you have one of the pre-prepared tyre puncture repair kits and inflation kits that come with the little tiny co2 canisters if you don't have them for your bike and you don't ride with them always you're an idiot I also carry a quick inflation and sealant can every time I ride
This guy has more knowledge than a phd holder😅
with the first thing u can fill ur tires with air from cars in da park😂
5:20 is what you came for i am pretty sure
#2 make sure the hose is long enough. Heard that “from a friend”😒
Thanks, very clever and extremely well explained.
4:08 this balloon made my day thank you so much
If your front tire goes flat just wheelie all the way to a pump
If you attached a hose from the exaust to the tire you could bow your tire up with the fumes form the exhaust
Having punctured a tire on an R1200gsa about 120 miles from the nearest pavement in Yukon Territory, then having difficulty getting worms to seal (snapped off insertion tool), I always carry a pump. Had an electric quit, so my preference is MiniFootpump
Ryan is one talented guy!
alright guys, goodnight
Well for the first time in 3 years watching yur video u actually told me something I didn't already new the engine pump I would have never thought of that nice
What model bike is that blue honda?
You can take a pipe from exhaust and fill the tyres... Simple.
If you were with a group, say on a camping trip, you could get a co2 paintball tank and have one person carry it. Could probably fill a few tires and its reusable.
hey @FortNine ! i recently got a new africa twin l1. its first time i have a motorcycle with tubed tyre. i have literally no idea what happens, what to do when tyre flats. i would be very happy if you make a video about it.
I mean would you really just keep kick starting the bike to inflate a tire you could but if somehow you could attach a pipe to your bike exhaust you can inflate it more quickly and easily just have to be careful that the exhaust doesn't melt anything if its too hot
Always liked that wd40 flamethrower inflation trick haha
i remember they did the wd40 tire trick in top gear its cool
I am a mountain biker, why am I watching this, I have no interest in motorbikes
Subbed because of the British accent
So he has all this shit on his bike but he doesn't have a mini pump ?
as a cyclist i now learned that i’ll buy co2 cartridges built for motorcycles now
*fish tanks
5:02 what sony is that?
👍🏼
I love the way he speaks
What about fixing one end of the siphon hose to the exhaust and the other to the tyre nozzle and turn the engine on and rev in idle the exhaust air should fill up the tyre
What model is that honda?
Your tire is flat oh let me light it on fire
20p to blow it up at my local asda
This channel is so underrated
Tireweld would be better
Very intelligent
Nice job, your one fart smeller... and well presented, as always..thanks!
The flame thing does not work in reality. Proven to be fake by Mythbusters.
is he autistic?
Using flame in this way does not inflate the tyre that is not possible. Flame was used as a bush craft solution to raise a tyre rim onto the sealing edge on the wheel of larger wheels. You have to inflate the tyre using compressed gas after this was done.
You're good. Where did you study? (Signed: engineer, biker, teacher).
What model of BMW does F9 use in his videos? Coming from someone who might buy a motorcycle in the near future :D
